![]() Here are the next two folders, and what their default values are if you installed your Steam Library to the default path:Ĭomputer -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> WOW6432Node -> Infogrames -> Conquests The entry that has to exist (or you have to make it) is always 'Install_Path'. Repeat step two for the next two folders. Type (or copy) the path to the Civ3PTW folder into this textbox and hit Ok.ģ. The first text is read-only (you can't type in it) and it has the name of the entry (Install_Path). This will open a little popup window with 2 textboxes. Double click the new entry (or right click and select 'Modify'). The Data column should still be blank at this point. The type of this entry is 'REG_SZ', which is just Windows way of saying String entry type. If you mess up or misclick, just right click on the entry and select 'Rename' and try again. Rename it to 'Install_Path' (no single quotes). This will add a 'New Value #1' and immediately let you rename it. You do this by right clicking on the right half in a blank area, and selecting the following menu: New -> String Value. If there is no 'Install_Path' entry, then you need to make one. The 'Install_Path' should have a Data value of 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete\civ3PTW\' (or wherever you have Civ 3 installed from Steam). ![]() Once you select this folder, there should be 2 entries on the right half: '(Default)' and 'Install_Path'. The first folder you are looking for is found in:Ĭomputer -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> WOW6432Node -> Infogrames -> Civ3PTW On the right will show you the registry entries in that folder. On the left (smaller half) is folder structure (similar to a folder structure you might see in Windows Explorer). If you have UAC turned on (which is likely) you will get an 'Are You Sure?' prompt from Windows about launching the Registry Editor. It should come up as an entry as 'regedit.exe' or 'Registry Editor'. In the search bar next to start button, type 'regedit' (without the quotes). ![]()
